Richmond 2015 Unveils Mobile App for UCI Road World Championships
Free App Enables Cycling Fans Across U.S. to Stream ‘Worlds’ Races in Richmond; Download Now
RICHMOND, Va., September 17, 2015 – Richmond 2015, the organizer of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, today launched its interactive mobile app for the nine-day cycling event that starts in Richmond on Sept. 19.
The free Richmond 2015 Mobile App enables fans attending the races from all over the country or cycling fans cheering from all over to keep tabs on the event through live streaming of the race championship races. A schedule of live streamed events can be found online at Richmond2015.com/LIVE. Other features packed into the app include:
- Race schedules, team rosters and courses
- Information about concerts, Fan Zones, key viewing areas and community events
- Tourist attractions in the Richmond and throughout Virginia
- Spectator info for fans attending the races or local residents navigating around town
The mobile app is available for download now in the Apple App Store and Google Play stores.

The Richmond 2015 Mobile App was developed by Eventbase, which has developed apps for events such as the London Olympics, Sochi Olympics, South by Southwest and the Sundance Film Festival.
The digital experience blends an elegant event website with racing details (video, rosters, schedules, etc.), social innovation and event navigation.

About the 2015 UCI Road World Championships
The 2015 UCI Road World Championships, cycling’s pinnacle event, will be held Sept. 19-27, 2015 in Richmond, Va., and is expected to attract as many as 450,000 onsite spectators from the Richmond region and across the globe over the course of the nine-day event as well as a worldwide TV audience in the hundreds of millions. More than 1,000 cyclists – Elite Men and Women, Under-23 Men and Junior Men and Women – from more than 70 countries will compete in three disciplines: the traditional Road Race, Individual Time Trial and Team Time Trial. The event, which is being held in the United States for the first time since 1986, culminates with the traditional road races on Sept. 26 (women) and Sept. 27 (men).
